ACCT PhillyACCT Philly (Animal Care and Control Team of Philadelphia) is an independent non-profit organization that handles more than 32,000 of the city’s animals, from dogs and cats, to small animals, reptiles, birds and wildlife, annually. They are able to provide the most extensive rescue partnership program in the country through its unrivaled foster care and adoption services.

As a supplement to their mission of providing shelter, caring for, and saving the homeless, abandoned, and abused animals, as well as to protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Philadelphia, they provide the following services:

  • Stray/Unwanted Animal Pick up
  • Enforcement of Animal Ordinance Complaints
  • Cats in Trees
  • Dog Licensing
  • Dead Animal Removal

Volunteers are the lifeblood of this organization. They help through the following:

  • Cat socialization & enrichment
  • Bathers and groomers
  • Foster care
  • Pen Pals
  • Adoption event support
  • Animal profiles and photos
  • Drivers for transport
  • Office help – filing, follow up calls
