The Dallas Fort Worth Metro Golden Retriever Rescue is an all-volunteer non-profit animal welfare group whose mission is to promote the rescue, care, training, evaluation and placement of abandoned or unwanted dogs of the Golden Retriever breed in the Dallas-Fort Worth areas, and to further promote the understanding, appreciation, care, and placement of the Golden Retriever breed among the general public, through education regarding responsible pet ownership.
Those who wish to help in making a difference in the lives of furry friends in the area can volunteer as:
- Foster families for dogs that are awaiting adoption
- Van drivers to transport dogs to and from vet appointments
- Event volunteers
- Newsletter contributors
- Committee Members
- Bathing, grooming, walking, or obedience training a Golden Retriever
- Working with potential adopters and assist in the adoption paperwork
- Cleaning out the storage building, washing the van, or other necessary procedures for running rescue smoothly
People can also help through making safe credit card donations via PayPal. All donations go to services like heartworm testing, vaccinations, lab works, spaying/neutering, radiogrpahs, specialist consultations, and orthopedic surgery.
