Operation AvaOperation Ava is a non-profit animal welfare organization that saves animals from shelters nationwide before they are euthanized and finds them forever-loving homes. The animals under their care all receive the needed medical treatment and rehabilitation prior to adoption.

An important part of pursuing their mission is helping less fortunate families so that they too can afford the necessary medical care for their sick pets. In doing so, Operation Ava can stop needless suffering and improve the lives of pets in need.

The group also educates kids of all ages on the issues facing homeless, abused, and neglected dogs and cats in the hopes of breaking the cycle of pet overpopulation and improving the lives of animals. The organization works with local schools and other community-based groups in teaching kids how to get involved and to make a difference.

Operation Ava’s Save-A-Life Center, Pet Shop, and Pet Mechanic can be found at 860-862 N. 3rd Street in Philadelphia. It is a state of the art veterinary wellness center, a fully stocked pet supply store, and one of Philadelphia’s largest animal rescue facilities in the area. Adoption hours are as follows:

  • Mondays to Fridays: 10:00 am to 8:00 pm
  • Saturdays: 9:00 am to 9:00 pm
  • Sundays: 11:00 am to 5:00 pm
