Waggin' Train RescueWaggin’ Train Rescue is a volunteer-based and charitable group dedicated to saving, rehabilitating, and re-homing lost, abandoned, orphaned, and homeless companion animals in New York City. It began as an effort to address the aftermath of 9/11 to furry friends in the area.

Each dog they rescue undergo a full medical assessment to check their health and body condition, after which they are given vaccinations against rabies, distemper, and bordetella, are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are treated for Heartworm before being put up for adoption. They also undergo behavioral assessment to correct any issues that they may have.

People who wish to adopt a dog from this animal rescue group can fill out an adoption application and then follow the process the group prescribes.

As a non-profit organization, they are open for volunteers who are willing to stand as foster parents to rescue dogs or to sponsor a specific dog’s expense while in the facility if neither adoption nor fostering is an option. People can also donate cash via PayPal to cover the cost of rehabilitating each furry friend under their care.
