In this season of giving, consider adopting an animal from Sean Casey Animal Rescue (SCAR) for yourself, your child, or dear friend. Serving the New York community since 1998, this shelter is a non-profit 501 (C) (3), no-kill shelter. SCAR helps a variety of animals including: cats, dogs, small mammals, birds and reptiles. Animals rescued come from all over including private owners, zoos, other shelters and community organizations. SCAR takes in unwanted, abandoned, homeless, injured, confiscated, neglected and unmanageable animals and works to rehabilitate them or ease their suffering as they transition from life to death.
Their mission is to care for as many unwanted animals as possible and to find them the perfect home. The costs involved can be staggering and the shelter accepts donations to help them carry out their mission. When an animal is available for adoption, they work diligently to find the perfect home, benefiting both the animal and the family adopting the animal. Some animals are placed in natural habitats with the assistance of wildlife rescuers when appropriate. SCAR is fully engaged with the community and invites community members to visit at 153 E 3rd Street in Brooklyn, New York 11218 from 11-7 every day. Feel free to call us at 718-436-5163.
