Angels of Assisi has grown to become the largest public animal welfare organization in the Roanoke Valley whose facilities include a private animal shelter, Community Pet Clinic, and 200-acre farm sanctuary, and offers cat adoptions at two area Petco stores and two area PetSmart stores. Angels of Assisi strives to be a resource to the community it belongs to, but also offers services to area and rural shelters to help end the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets in southwest Virginia and West Virginia.
They provide reduced cost medical care to companion animals with special emphasis on spaying and neutering to prevent pet overpopulation. They provide shelter, care and sustenance to companion and domesticated farm animals in need, including an adoption center for homeless dogs and cats and a farm animal sanctuary.
