Animal Rescue Friends

Animal Rescue Friends, Ltd (ARF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, foster based, all-breed, dog and cat rescue dedicated to saving dogs and cats from the county’s euthanasia list.

Its mission is to reduce the amount of animals euthanized at county shelters by rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing animals that would otherwise potentially be put to sleep due to over-crowding and the limited resources at the shelters.  Through their rescue, they educate and promote responsible pet ownership including spay/neuter, licensing, vaccinations and microchipping of all pets.

Instead of boarding animals in a shelter, they opt to put them in foster homes while awaiting adoption. This way, each furry friend receives the kind of care and love it deserves until a forever home is found for them.

Members of the community who wish to make a difference in the lives of the companion animals under the group’s care can help out in various ways. They can help transport pets to and from vet appointments, adoption events, and foster homes. They can also help out with setting up adoption events, cleaning up after pets, walking dogs, and taking shifts at the Cat Adoption Center located inside Petsmart in Mesa. Furthermore, people can also donate items such food, blankets, pillows, Nylabones, treats, toys, collars, cat litter, litter boxes, and leashes.
