Chicago Canine Rescue Foundation (CCRF) is a non-profit and volunteer-run organization that aims to give a second chance at life to dogs that are on the euthanasia roll for being considered too young, too old, too sick, or who have special needs.
They have been able to help over 3,000 of the most vulnerable furry friends in the city since 2001 through finding permanent and loving homes for them.
CCRF relies on its volunteers to carry out the tasks that go with their mission. People who wish to offer their time and effort to their cause will be able to help in adoption events as dog handlers and transporters as well as at the shelter as dog walkers, bathers, and facility aides. Moreover, volunteers can also help out in raising funds through silent auctions and solicitations.
They also recognize the importance of fostering and adopting furry friends to those who wish to have a companion. Through these efforts, the pets under their care are rehabilitated and are turned back into the happy pets that they once were.
The Chicago Canine Rescue facility is located at 5272 N. Elston Ave., Chicago, IL 60630 and is open during Mondays to Fridays from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and during Saturdays and Sundays at noon to 5:00 PM.
