The Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida or Lab Rescue is a non-profit organization that was established in 2000 with the ultimate goal of placing Labrador Retrievers in the care of loving homes. This wholly volunteer-run movement first started as a grassroots organization that eventually became one of the most successful bread rescues in the State of Florida.
Following the rescue of over 5000 Labrador Retrievers since its inception, Lab Rescue not only provides their charge animals with foster care but also with veterinary attention. The organization spays, neuters, and microchips the dogs under its adoption program and likewise conducts a holistic assessment of the animals by way of tracing the history, determining the temperament and personality, and testing the energy level of each.
At present, Lab Rescue operates in 12 districts in the State of Florida, each with its own Area Coordinator to oversee the management of volunteers and the respective animal charges rescued within the prescribed territory. All the 12 districts fall under the jurisdiction of Lab Rescue’s Board of Directors that consists of a team of highly qualified specialists and professionals.
