Abandoned, lost, neglected and abused dogs often end up facing euthanasia. Furry Friends Freedom Foundation strives to save animals from this sad fate. They accomplish this by fostering the animals in their own homes, providing love and socialization for these dogs, as they prepare them for adoption. They also teach people about responsible dog ownership.
They are a 501(c)3 non-profit group and rely completely on donations to do what they do. They are not a shelter but are, instead, a coalition of people who provide foster care for the animals in their own homes. The care is paid for by adoption fees and donations, which the Furry Friends Freedom Foundation can’t survive without.
They operate out of Jacksonville, Florida and have an all volunteer staff, who care for these poor souls until an adoption is possible. The Furry Friends Freedom Foundation sponsors dog adoption days at Petco and they hold adoption events at the OP Farmer’s Market.
If you are considering adopting a pet, here’s what you must do: Submit an application to the foundation at firstname.lastname@example.org. A representative of the Foundation will get back with you before 72 hours is up, and you can begin the process.
