Heart of Texas SPCA

Heart of Texas SPCA (HOTSPCA) is a non-profit animal welfare group dedicated to providing an escape from certain death for hundreds of dogs and puppies by providing temporary shelter and care until loving homes are found for them.

The group does not euthanize the pets under their care regardless of space restrictions and the appearance of the companion animals they take in.

Prior to being put up for adoption, the furry friends they rescue are spayed/neutered to alleviate the problem of animal overpopulation in the area. All pets are also fully vaccinated and are rehabilitated and treated for any trauma they incurred due to abuse, neglect, or injury.

Since they are a private charitable group, HOTSPCA does not receive any Federal funding and so they rely on the help of the community to provide the needs of the furry friends in their care. Interested parties can donate items such as dry and canned dog food, rawhide, dog toys, Kuranda beds, cleaning supplies, garbage bags, blankets/linens, escape-proof kennels, and a van for transporting dogs to and from vet appointments.

The group can be found at 28730 IH-10 West at Fair Oaks Ranch, Exit #546 off IH-10 Inside the 1st American Storage Facility. They can also be reached through phone at (830) 981-2300 as well as through mail at P.O. Box 691403, San Antonio, TX 78269.
