Heartland Animal Shelter Illinois

Heartland Animal Shelter is a non-profit group whose mission is to find permanent, loving homes for homeless animals and promote responsible pet ownership through education, community outreach and collaboration while maintaining respect and compassion for all creatures.

As a volunteer-run organization, it relies on the help of community members in providing tender love and care to the furry friends under their care. Interested parties can volunteer as kitten room attendants, as dog walkers/cleaners, as members of the clean and feed team, as foster parents, as volunteers during adoption day, as fundraising volunteers or event coordinators, as attendants during open hours, as Heartland greeters, as rush spay & neuter clinic veterinarian volunteers, and as grant writers.

Interested parties can also donate in cash to cover the costs of medicines and antibiotics of special needs pets, spaying and neutering, vaccinations, food and shelter, and surgical assistance. Safe credit card donations can be made via PayPal.

Their animal shelter is located at 2975 Milwaukee Ave. Northbrook, IL. 60062 and is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 4:00 in the afternoon to 7:00 in the evening and on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 noon to 4:00 in the afternoon.

They can be reached through phone at 847-296-6400, through fax at 847-296-4198, and through email at heartlandanimals@yahoo.com.
