The Hooved Animal Rescue & Protection Society (HARPS) is a non-profit organization that seeks to rescue abused and neglected horses and hooved animals. The group was established by Donna Ewing in 2001 and has since been providing aid to animals as well as their owners.
One of HARPS’s programs is the assisted adoption program. Through this initiative, horse owners can fin a new home for their equine friend by listing their horse’s photo and information in the HARP website for two months. Screening will be done by the owner.
Another program of HARP is its educational focus is the involvement of at-risk children in the hooved animal protection effort. Visits to their facility can offer real hope and a powerful visual representation that loving care and understanding, diligent work, and the unselfish help of others can bring about remarkable change.
The group can be reached through mail at P.O. Box 94 Barrington, IL 60011-0094. They can also be contacted through phone at 847-382-0503, through fax at 847-382-0843, and through email at email@example.com.
