City services like Jacksonville’s Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) play such an active and important role in our area to collect lost pets and provide pet adoption services. As a community working together, we can help the ACPS by adopting pets, volunteering or making donations.

Adoption Special for August
We know there are an awful lot of folks out there that would just love to adopt a dog or an inquisitive cat who need a good home. In spite of this, many of you just don’t have the money to take care of adoption fees, and that’s why we’re delighted to offer free adoption services during the month of August. There’s still time to view some adorable pets online and make arrangements to take a new friend home free of charge.
Each year during the kitten season, we see thousands of little kittens that arrive at our doors with no homes. If you have the space, love and are interested in helping out, we sure could use foster homes.
The shelter is at 2020 Forest Street in Jacksonville, Florida. We are open from Tue through Sat from 10 to 6 pm.
