The Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals is a non-profit group ”committed to seeing the day when no New York City dog or cat of reasonable health and temperament is killed merely because he or she does not have a home.” Its main goal is to transform the City of New York into a no-kill community by 2015.

The organization recognizes the importance of volunteers in their success. This is why they keep urging members of the community to take part in saving the lives of homeless and/or abused companion animals. Interested parties can provide hands-on work at the shelter, offer a temporary home to a dog or cat that is awaiting adoption, and participating in various Mayors’ Alliance events.

In addition, people can also have a positive impact on the lives of furry friends in New York through donating financially. All monetary gifts given to the organization are used for rehabilitating and providing for the needs of the countless dogs and cats under the group’s care. Interested parties can make safe credit card donations online.

The group can be found at 244 Fifth Avenue, Suite R290, New York, NY 10001-7604. They can be reached through phone at (212) 252-2350 as well as through email at info@AnimalAllianceNYC.org. To find out more about this group, please visit their website at http://www.animalalliancenyc.org/.
