The Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS) is a non-profit and private animal welfare organization serving Southern California that is dedicated to the shelter and rescue of dogs, cats and other animals in need.
Its mission is to rescue and shelter abandoned companion animals, encourage adoptions into loving homes, and promote humane ideals through education and community outreach.
In the nearly 55 years since its inception, RCHS has grown from a small facility run by volunteers to a professionally managed humane society that provides quality shelter care, adoption services, education programs and an animal safehouse program for the survivors of domestic violence.
After finding the perfect match for a pet under their care, they help prospective adopters learn about health care, nutrition requirements, grooming, exercise, responsible pet ownership, socialization and the importance of the human/animal bond.
Interested parties can help the group in their mission through donating financially. These funds will be used to feed and care for animals looking for loving homes, provide a safe haven to animals who are victims of domestic violence, and provide humane education to enrich the lives of animals and people who love them. Interested parties can call 760-753-6413 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to donate.
Their shelter is located at 389 Requeza Street Encinitas, CA 92024 and is open from Wednesday to Monday at 11:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the afternoon.
