The Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals is a private and non-profit animal welfare organization committed to seeing the day when no New York City dog or cat of reasonable health and temperament is killed merely because he or she does not have a home. It works with a coalition of 150+ rescue groups and no-kill shelters to transform New York City into a no-kill community by 2015.
Volunteers play a critical role in achieving the group’s mission. Interested parties can work hands-on with animals at a shelter, open their homes to foster an animal, as well as participating in special events like pet adoption, microchipping, tabling, and fundraising. Other volunteer opportunities include photography/videography, writing, graphic/web design, data entry, and other artistic and administrative areas.
People can also help through giving monetary donations which will be used to fund the organization’s programs benefitting furry kind in the community. Those who wish to donate can do so online as well as through mail.
Their office is located at 244 Fifth Avenue, Suite R290, New York, NY 10001-7604. They can be reached through phone at (212) 252-2350, as well as through email at info@AnimalAllianceNYC.org.
