RESCUEReducing Euthanasia at Shelters through Commitment and Underlying Education or RESCUE is an Arizona-based non-profit organization that aims to alleviate cases of mercy killing in Maricopa County.

As an animal rescue group, they strive to provide permanent and loving homes for each pet that they rescue and they also provide unparalleled and individual attention to each furry friend for their personal well-being  Prior to being put up for adoption, each pet is given a temporary, comfortable, and protected waiting place via foster homes.

Their commitment to save the animals from certain death extends to the community through educating the public regarding the importance of spaying or neutering animals as a way to reduce animal over population, providing continuous assistance to adopters, and assisting families that wish to take in a new family member in the form of a RESCUE pet.

Those who wish to help can volunteer as personal care technicians, ambassadors, dog/cat foster parents, dog caretakers, dog walkers, or fundraising specialists. Contact jennifer@azrescue.org to apply.
