Rescuing Retiring Greyhounds in Arizona

Arizona Adopt a Greyhound, Inc. is a non-profit and volunteer-driven animal welfare organization dedicated to placing retiring racing Greyhounds in wonderful forever homes.

The group works with local kennels in identifying which Greyhounds are retiring soon and when they come off the track, they immediately start looking for a suitable home for them.

They hold weekly adoption programs at various stores with the following schedule:

1st Saturday:

-PetCo – Fountain Hills (16835 East Shea Blvd Ste #105); 1:00-3:00 pm

-PetCo – Tempe (1835 E Guadalupe Rd #112); 1:00-3:00 pm

-Tempe Farmers Market (East of McClintock on the N. side of Warner)

1st Sunday:

-PetsMart Northwest – I-17 & Beardsley (2901 West Aqua Fria Freeway); 1:00-3:00 pm

2nd Saturday:

-Bookmans – Phoenix (19th Ave & Northern); 1:00-3:00 pm

3rd Saturday:

-Bookmans – Tempe (1056 S Country Club Dr & Mesa); 1:00-3:00 pm

-Gilbert Farmers Market – Downtown Gilbert (west of the Water Tower); 7:00 to 11:00 am

3rd Sunday:

-PetCo – Mesa (2090 S Power Rd); 1:00-3:00 pm

-SwapSmart — Goodyear (15305 W McDowell Rd (Estrella Parkway & IH-10); 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

4th Saturday:

-PetsMart Bell Road (17035 N 7th Avenue); 1:00 pm-3:00 pm

4th Sunday:

-PetCo – Indian Bend & Hiway 101 (8910 E Indian Bend); 1:00 pm-3:00 pm
