Scout’s Honor Rescue is a non-profit animal welfare organization focusing on rescuing and placing dogs and cats in Houston, Texas and surrounding areas. They give furry friends a second chance at having a loving and permanent home that can provide them with the love and attention they deserve.
The group takes animals from city pounds including those from Houston’s Bureau of Animal Regulation and Care (BARC) and the City of La Porte animal shelter as well as canine friends living on the streets and those living in an abusive situation.
People can help the organization through volunteering. Responsibilities include picking up a particular dog or cat from a shelter and taking it to SNAP for vetting and then to the kennel or his or her new foster home, making emergency veterinary trips, helping with grant opportunities or other fundraising, taking pictures of the new pets in their program, and assisting in monthly “Meet and Greet” in the Heights.
People can also help through making safe credit card donations via Donation Pay. Proceeds will go to covering the cost of animal rehabilitation.
