KittyKind is a non-profit, all-volunteer, and no-kill cat rescue and adoption group whose aim is to reduce the number of abandoned or homeless animals in New York City.
Each year, KittyKind rescues and finds loving homes for around eight hundred cats, and their happy endings attest to the dedication of their network of compassionate, tireless volunteers and the contribution of the public, in providing donations, foster homes, and, ultimately, wonderful forever homes.
All of the cats under their care are tested for FeLV (feline leukemia) and FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus), vaccinated, and spayed/neutered at an appropriate age. Most of them are placed in foster homes while waiting for their forever families while some are in their adoption center at Petco.
To adopt a cat, interested parties can visit their adoption center located at Petco, Union Square, 860 Broadway, New York, NY 10003 and meet with an adoption representative to discuss the process of adopting and, upon approval of application, an adoption contract will be signed by both the applicant and KittyKind.
KittyKind can be contacted through mail at P.O. Box 961, Murray Hill Station, New York, NY 10156. They can also be reached through phone at (212) 726-2652 or through filling out the contact form found here. For more information, please visit their website at http://www.kittykind.org.
